Taylor Meets Great Grandpa Rick

Today, we took Taylor to Richmond to meet Ricko. Rick lives at Westminster Canterbury, which is an assisted living home. When we arrived, he was taking a nap so he was a little groggy at first. We said hello, introduced him to Taylor and had some small talk. He told us she was very cute and then said he was tired and was going to go take a nap. So basically we were there for maybe two minutes before he told us bye-bye:)! I was not having any part of that since I wanted a picture of him with Taylor. So John went and got one of the nurses and she got him right up. Taylor was very intrigued by Ricko and couldn't keep her eyes off of him. She obviously knows a great man when she sees one. I think Rick was pretty impressed with her as well. He kept telling us how cute she was and when we were leaving he asked John where the baby was. So I brought her back in so he could see her again. It was a great visit.

Someone is 6 Months Old Today

I cant believe Taylor is 6 months old! It is going by way too fast and she is getting way too big. I snapped a few pictures of her this morning. She is so adorable I just want to eat her...

I have upgraded to a bigger bow!! It is almost as big as her head

Happy Baby

Hampden and Taylor. Taylor loves Hampden and Aubrey. You might be wondering where Aubrey is...well she is too insane to sit still long enough for a picture.

Better watch out Hampden she's coming for you

The petting begins

I Survived Alaska and I Survived being Away from My Little Baby

Alaska was absolutely beautiful!! The air was so crisp and fresh and the natural beauty was amazing. I am disappointed to say that I didn't see a bear but I did see three moose. One of the last days I went for a long hike and was praying then that I wouldn't have any bear encounters. Here are a few pictures from Alaska:

Mt McKinley or as the natives say Denali

We took a plane to Mt. Mckinley and landed on a glacier. This is me standing on a glacier

Two eagles hangin in a tree

Some Alaskan Huskies practicing for the Iditarod sled race

Sunset view of Mt. McKinley

Always makes you feel good when your tour guide walks around with a shot gun. You never know what you might encounter. As a side note our guide lived in a tent....and yes it was his choice. He looked at me with a strange face when I asked him where he showered.

John was Mr. Mom and Mr. Dad last week. He did a wonderful job and I really think he enjoyed the bonding time. Since I have returned he is now telling me how to do everything! He is the reason I survived being away from my baby. First thing every morning I had a picture of her and every night he sent one as well. Everyone on my trip fell in love with my daily pictures. So it was fun getting to show them off everyday. Here are a few of my favorites:

Subject line: Good Morning Mommy I love you

Subject line: I miss you already. This is her making her new favorite noise

Subject line: Getting my sun on

Subject line: Happy Hump day

Subject line: Hi Mommy

Subject line: Happy Friday

I am sure a few of you might be wondering what Taylor wore all week and how John did on dressing her and how many bows she sported. I picked out every outfit and laid them on the floor in order. I showed him where all the bows were placed on each outfit:) He got it all right!!

The last picture is Taylor in her gift from Alaska. I am sure she is thinking my mom went to Alaska and all I got were PJ's

Taylors First Slumber Party Weekend and Half Marathon

Yesterday I ran in the Virginia Beach Half Marathon for the second time with Angela. As I was running along I slowly was recalling memories of my 2006 half marathon and I very quickly recalled telling myself NEVER to do another:) I cannot say I thoroughly enjoyed running 13.1 miles but I am VERY happy I completed it and beat my old time by 7 minutes. My very first words to John were "If I ever tell you I want to run another half marathon please tell me NOOO". Knowing me I am sure I will forget those words and want to run another one very soon. We did have a wonderful time in Virginia Beach and Ang and I had a new running partner this year.

Angela and I as soon as the race was over!

Angela, Anna and I. I was a little happier now because I was drinking a victory beer

Ha..I couldn't resist putting this up. Ang and I after our 2006 race. How young do we look??

Taylor also had a very exciting weekend!! She had her first slumber party weekend in Weldon!! Johnnie and Charlotte had lots of fun activities planned for her and got to show her off to all of their friends. By looking at the pictures its easy to see why she cant wait to go back!

Sleeping Beauty

I couldn't resist not sharing this cute photo I took with my cell phone. I love the way she is snuggling with her rabbit. Please do not tell her that she is going bald in the back. She doesn't know and I don't have the heart to tell her:) Thank goodness she has tons of hair on top and some faithful hair on the bottom! As her dad likes to say her new hairdo kind of resembles a toupee.
